I’m sure many of you have heard the drama about the Pulte Homes development proposal surrounding our beloved Wood Wind Golf Club.  Well, the drama is finally over! 
 
Last month, the Westfield City Council rejected the controversial proposal from Pulte Homes to build their massive housing development.  “The City Council’s decision came after a lengthy community conversation that involved the developer, residents and city officials,” said City Council President Jim Ake in a media release. “Due to the overwhelming feedback from our community, many of us on the Council felt that moving forward with this development would not be representative of what our constituents want.”

Just because we live in one of the most affluent counties in the State of Indiana, it doesn’t mean we are without crime.  This session, the General Assembly enacted legislation to promote public safety by punishing cyber criminals, cracking down on impaired drivers, addressing the illegal drug epidemic and strengthening penalties for pharmacy robberies - issues which undoubtedly plague our community like many others.

Kuddos to Westfield Schools!  Be on the look-out!

In an effort to save money and increase efficiency, annual textbook rental invoices will be delivered to parents via email. In the past, parents received a brightly colored invoice in the mail with details on the fees for the coming school year. This summer, look for an email with a unique, secure link and instructions on how to download and pay your invoice. Parents will receive one email for each child they have in the district. Parents of students going into grades K-6 will receive the email in July; parents of students going into grades 7-12 will receive the email in September.
