The Indianapolis Colts have a new home for training camp here in Westfield!

The NFL franchise has signed a 10-year agreement with the Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield, starting next year. The 2018 pre-season will also feature Play 60, an expanded 72,000 square feet Colts City, and an enhanced fan experience.

“When Grand Park opened three years ago it was meant to be the gem of youth sports,” Mayor Andy Cook said in a written statement. “This partnership to be the official home of the Indianapolis Colts training camp goes well beyond youth sports."

“Holding training camp at Grand Park will give our team a chance to practice at a top notch facility in addition to giving us the chance to connect with our fans as we prepare for the season,” Colts General Manager Chris Ballard added. “The venue is located in ideal proximity to our fan base and we feel this is an advantageous move for the Indianapolis Colts.”

It’s very exciting for our entire Westfield community!

Keeping you in the loop
We have some exciting news here at Westfield Washington Township!  We are thrilled to announced we have embarked on a great opportunity and have begun a partnership with Current Publishing to produce our seasonal OWWN Guide!  This partnership will begin this fall with the production of our Winter OWWN Guide.

This partnership is an excellent example of creating efficiency in government.  Through this partnership with our friends at the Current, we will be streamlining what is now a lengthy and costly internal process by allowing design, production and mailing to be produced by The Current’s top-notch production and design group.

The seasonal publication, with full color on all pages, will be delivered as an insert in your Current Newspaper to every household in Westfield Washington Township including some households in Sheridan, Carmel and Noblesville reaching nearly 30,000 homes.  Look for our next edition to be delivered in November!

Politics at its best

Westfield has been named 2017 Third Best City to Raise a Family in Indiana by finance outlet WalletHub.com.

“Families continue to come to Westfield not just from other places in Indiana, but from all over the country,” Mayor Andy Cook said. “We are pleased with the recognition and are always looking for ways to make Westfield a great place for parents to raise healthy, happy families.”

WalletHub’s study compared more than 70 cities across Indiana using 21 indicators of family friendliness, including median family income, school quality and housing affordability.  Way to go Westfield!

Neighborhood Chat
Every year suicide claims more lives than war, murder, and natural disasters combined. Together we can change the conversation about mental health and put a stop to this tragic loss of life.

Help make a difference and attend Westfield High School’s Shamrock Save a Life Walk tomorrow at 6:30pm at the stadium.  WHS is partnering with the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention to host a special presentation and walk around the stadium to promote suicide prevention and awareness among our students and the community.  All are welcome to join the event and know the facts, show compassion and support one another.
